Product OverviewMMO Ribbon Anode matched with Titanium Conductor Strip forms the standard mesh anode assembly for impressed current cathodic protection (ICCP) projects, most commonly applied underneath vertical storage tank bottoms.
In the mesh layout, longitudinally installed MMO ribbon anodes deliver protective cathodic current, while transversely arranged uncoated titanium conductor strips serve as current collectors to balance potential across the entire grid. All intersections are fusion-welded to create an integrated mesh anode system. The assembly can be laid directly on sand bedding under tank bottoms without coke breeze backfill, making it the preferred long-term anti-corrosion solution for large storage tanks.
MMO ribbon anode adopts ASTM B265 Grade 1 high-purity titanium strip as substrate, coated with thermally sintered IrO2-Ta2O5 mixed metal oxide catalytic layer, which is classified as Dimensionally Stable Anode (DSA). Titanium conductor strip is uncoated pure titanium material only for current conduction and collection. It cannot be used as a current-discharging anode independently.
